Thanks NeRox. Very Happy

now about your question, yes there's a police but they don't care about scooters around here & besides my uncle is the city mayor & my dad holds a high post in city hall & the local police is under direct control of the mayor. Very Happy

nobody is angry over the sound of our scooters, in fact people are used to it, also it is illegal not wear a helmet but since this road we use for testing is rarely being used by vehicles we can do whatever we want.

we use helmet only when we test at 400m, it's a different thing for you guys b'coz the laws in your country are stricter than ours.

btw there's also no speed limit for scooters you can use full race tuned scooters on the road with no problems as long as your papers & registration is in order. Very Happy Shocked Laughing

IndlægSkrevet: Søn Apr 23, 2006 7:28    Emne: Dragrace movies Besvar, med citat

Ok here's some movies from yesterday's dragrace & it only shows all the runs my scooter did against the 90cc scooters, there were 14 entries in total but some of them are really fast, the crowd was unruly as usual so you can't see the full length of the race.

http://rapidshare.de/files/18657195/dragrace_001.mpg.html

My first run was against a jog90cc dragscooter, i lost this run b'coz my tire didn't have enough grip (cold) so it spun uncontrollably under full throttle, the scooter was catching up but it was too late as the margin was too big to close the gap. the opponents' scooter was also fast but if we managed to do a burnout & warm-up the tires we could've won this round.

http://rapidshare.de/files/18661555/dragrace_002.mpg.html

Here is my second run & this time we have our tire burnout to make it sticky & the results are evident as you will see in this movie, the opponent is a Honda Dio G 90cc built by the defending champion for one of his customers.

IndlægSkrevet: Søn Apr 23, 2006 8:05    Emne: Dragrace movies (continuation) Besvar, med citat

This is the continuation of the movies i posted above, the race yesterday was abnormally hot it greatly affected how our transmission worked, it wreaked havoc on our springs that it kept losing stiffness as the race progressed & we were only given a few minutes to fix the problems which was barely enough time to sort it out. we lightened the total weight by 0,6grams but it was not sufficient as the contrspring lost a bit more tension so we still experienced rpm drops at 300m which will cost us the race later on, this time we only managed to get 3rd place but the gap between the class winning Honda 90cc scooter was very small, if the springs held up we could've won the race by a small margin (1 or 2 scooters).

http://rapidshare.de/files/18663096/dragrace_003.mpg.html

This is the third run & as usual we did a burnout before staging to warm up the tire so you can see how quick the scooter accelerated off the starting line, the opponent was also a Honda G 90cc scooter built by the defending champion for one of his customers, obviously it is quite underpowered compared to his own dragscooters, you be the judge & see the next movie where we go up against the champion.

http://rapidshare.de/files/18664842/dragrace_004.mpg.html

This is the final run & it's the battle for 1st, 2nd & 3rd, if we beat one of his scooters we are assured of 2nd place & if we beat both we win the championship, see how a small 70cc goes up against a bigger 90cc scooter, the other rider was very confident of victory that he raised his left arm just after he got a holeshot against my rider, our RT (reaction time) was just down a hundreths of a second slower but that was enough for them to get the holeshot, both of our scooters did a burnout prior to staging & you can see the acceleration off the line was almost the same.

If the engine didn't suffer an rpm drop at the 250m to 300m mark wo could've caught up with him and won the race but that's what happens in racing, sometimes things do go as you would hope it would be.

Is a pleasure as allways to read about your races. Smile

But very sad you didn't beat the 90cc Dio's when you where so close. Next race you will beat them! I can emagine the 90cc's are a bit afraid to loose to you when you are so close with a 70cc engine.

But what about your other projects in the hunt for the 90cc's? 2fast and overbored 80cc MHR team cylinder? What are your status at these projects?

Have you also played with the thougt of handmade custom pipes like Roost etc. ?

Thank you, i'm glad it entertained you. Smile

You bet they were also afraid b'coz they have the bigger engines so it would be embarrassing for them if they got beat by a smaller 70cc scooter, the funny thing is the defending champion was frequently going to the organizers & making sure his scooters aren't paired up against my dragscooter, he knows that we are the only one that can actually beat his scooter b'coz he has tasted defeat from us more than once on several occasions.

The status of the 80cc MHR Team has been put on hold for quite a while due to lack of funding but anytime soon we will send the kit out to the US for overboring & replating, the 2F4R is just waiting to be shipped to my customer, only he has to take care of wiring the $$$ to MT & after that my customer will receive the kit & the project can start after that.

For the meantime we shall concentrate on improving the tuning on the transmission & carb (main jet) as when the weather gets hot the scooter doesn't perform as we have tested by tomorrow afternoon we'll try to test under the same conditions during the race to solve the problem, probably a smaller main jet & adjusting the torque drive are the ones we must tackle to eliminate the problem.

Unfortunately considering a custom exhaust pipe with our current financial status is unthinkable, i just had the C21 this year & i think i haven't maxed out it's potential yet so the money would be better spent on increasing the displacement to close the gap between our scooter & the competition, remember there is no longer a 70cc class in our place so you'd better have one hell of a 70cc just to get into the podium.

Slowly but surely we're improving the scooter, the new set-up is obviously mych faster than the previous one but i forgot to mention that we reverted back to teh OKO 28 PWK relica carb due to problems with progression from idle to 1/2 throttle, it needs a different needle to clean up the response but the OKO 28 carb is putting out an awesome performance.

We will have our revenge once we sort out the problems so until then let's hope for the best. Smile

Thank you for your concern we are all perfectly fine, the affected areas are at the southernmost part of the Island of Luzon, we live in Central Luzon which is far away from the coast where the typhoon has hit the hardest.

Yes i do feel a lot of sympathy for the people who lost their family members but it was really inevitable b'coz of the geographical nature of that part of the island.

Anyway back on the subject i like to post some updated pics about the new 2Fast engine setup but it seems i can't find upload3d.dk can somebosy post up the URL for the site or any other sites that host pics.

Thanks for the compliments, we always try to strive for something greater, it's what tuning is all about.

As for the pipes i have only the Yasuni C21 to test at the moment but so far it has proven to be an excellent pipe for the 2Fast kit if custom pipes are not an option, also MHR Team pipes are NOT an option, they are way overpriced & a joke, it's just another way for Malossi to rip off some money from the brainwashed scooterista that thinks Malossi always make the best tuning parts.

I also have an offer from the Metrakit importer here in the Philippines to test the Prorace type III exhaust as well as the Prorace 2005 prototype from MRD (Metrakit Racing Division) but i can only use them after the New Year, in my opinion it would also be an excellent pipe to use on the 2Fast since it is not truly a very high cilinder in standard trim & the Prorace TIII seems to be a match since it has loger tuned length & a bigger header tubing than the C21, of the 2 the C21 is more topend biased but the Prorace Prototype it's much shorter & it looks like a C30.

Roost have yet to update us on the status of the custom 2Fast pipe i hope it arrives this coming January but i won't put it on just yet, only when somebody beats the #2 engine i will test & tune the engine for the Roost pipe, no sense in stressing the motor when it has already met our requirements with the current setup.

IndlægSkrevet: Man Jan 29, 2007 14:57    Emne: Overrev/2F4R Yamaha Jog; UNLEASHED!!! Besvar, med citat

At last, after all the time, effort, skill & $$$ we invested in this engine we have achieved our main goal; 90cc scooter class & 125cc scooter class CHAMPIONS!!! Very Happy

With our secret weapon finally unleashed after conducting lots of testing & tuning, our competitors were caught with their pants down, they finally got a taste of 2Fast power (Overrev Tuned of course Very Happy ), no losses were recorded during the event & we raced against some very worthy opponents including the much awaited encounter with the "King of 90cc" G-Tech Racing Honda Dio G 90cc & "the Pride of North Luzon" which has a full MHR Team spec Yamaha Jog/Passol dragscooter.

We also raced in the 125cc class where the fastest dragscooters compete (Honda Dio G 125's), we are just hoping to place decently in this class but we never expected to win this class, we were actually surprised the 2F4R engine performed very strong against much bigger opponents.

Anyway here are some of teh videos my cameraman got, forgive the lousy shots as the crowd was hard to work with.

90cc class, round 1, eliminations, Honda Dio 90cc vs 2F4R Yamaha Jog
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2961436716906276312

90cc class, round 2, eliminations, Honda Dio 90cc vs 2F4R Yamaha Jog, delayed a bit b'coz of the crowd.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2359684812705176066

125cc class, finals, Honda Dio G 125cc vs 2F4R Yamaha Jog, the Honda was very quick from the start but we caught up with it before the 100m mark.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-887959509430906764

90cc class, semifinals, sudden death match, "the King of 90cc" G-Tech racing Honda Dio G 90cc vs Overrev Tuning 2F4R Yamaha Jog, the long awaited match, time for some payback.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6847573580135361655

90cc class, finals, "the pride of North Luzon" full MHR Team spec Yamaha Jog/Passol dragscooter vs Overrev Tuning 2F4R Yamaha Jog, also another rematch, he beat me before using a bored out 50mm (80cc) MHR Team cilinder, time for some payback.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1944989559354795398

It was a great debut for the 2F4R project, our competitors couldn't believe what happened, they didn't expect to get beaten so badly & we're talking a big gap here & not the usual 1 or 2 scooter lengths.

Even the (former) "King" flagged down our scooter to demand that we open up the cilinder for inspection if it was within 90cc, with no hesitation i told my brother to get the digital caliper & tools but when he saw how eager & happy i was he just backed off & said it was OK, he believes me since i openly declared i was using a 47,6mm piston & the kit was Italian & nikasil plated (i just didn't tell them what stroke crankshaft & brand the kit was). Very Happy

Anyway i hope you enjoy the crappy videos, i will post other ones with a different locations.

Thanks for the good comments i truly appreciate it. Smile

Dude we all started down at the bottom of the ladder & slowly worked our way up, this scooter didn't materialized overnight, it existed only through the collaboration of a few individuals who have a very strong passion for scooter racing.

I'm not a rich person but i save my money just to buy the parts i need to start racing as you have read from the story i wrote, it may take 1year, 2years or 5 but never ever say you can't do something similar or better, if i had that kind of mentality i would have given up years ago.

We have high expectations with engine #2 & with the amount of time, effort, skill & money we invested 2nd place is NOT an option, the day somebody beats this dragscooter is the day i'm gonna unleash the remaining potential hidden in this cilinder, basically the port timings are untouched as they came from the box, i'll bet i can coax out 1hp or 2 from my current set-up & that requires a lot of time spent in front of the PC trying to get the minimum required exhaust & transfer port timing for best hp/torque.

Since you're interested in knowing what the ET's are with engine #2 we got an unofficial 11.55 second ET @ 400m during the last test prior to the race & the engine is very consistent & ran very strong during the entire event. 11.5 seconds is the goal we set in order to be at par with the fastest 125cc dragscooters & dominate the 90cc class, we achieved all that in it's current setup.

We still have a custom Roost pipe in the works for the 2F4R engine & when the money arrives we will be getting the 2006 Malossi Overrange kit for the Yamaha Jog to test with, we are hoping to improve our ET & consistency with these new parts.

For now we are very pleased with the results. Very Happy

Yah, the 2005 OR kit, has anybody here tested with a similar unit for an Aerox or Nitro? can't you just but the vario kit alone?

Thanks, it only sucks we haven't debuted it on a better track but come Feb there will be a race inside Clark AFB which means better track surface & better crowd control (much disciplined than country folk).

Yah a slick tire would be an excellent choice for racing on the asphalt but for rough concrete surfaces it's not a good idea, do they have an 80/90-10 or 3.00-10 slick tire?

Congratulations with the great victory against the Dio G 90cc's Smile You deserve it! It must be like a dream come true to you, finally to dominate a race being the underdog. Good luck in future race with your incredible dragster!

Thanks dude! Very Happy

Yup it's like a dream come true, if this was still a dream i wouldn't want to wake-up, that is the exact same words the owner of the 2Fast engine said when we beat 2 of our toughest rivals in the 90cc class, if the "King" never came it would have been an empty victory, he was the only one that could mount a serious challenge on my old MHR Team setup (engine #1) so i was really excited & nervous when he showed up.

Not only did the 2Fast kit closed the gap between displacement (78cc vs 86 & 88cc) but it's far more advanced when it comes to port design & layout which more than maked up for the lack of displacement, of course we're not forgetting the millions of $'s spent for R&D, whatever they have learned from GP racing they apply some of the technology on these cilinders, it's actually a bargain. Very Happy

I will disassemble the engine for the meantime to do some inspection & to freshen it up which means new piston rings, stay tuned there will be more races to come.

Many places in this topic it is stated that most measurement is 100 and 50 meter times.

Correct, in the actual races we run 400m but we do initial testing near our shop under 150m to tune & dial in the carb & rollers before we do a full 400m testrun.

Please don't confuse the times of 400m & 150m, btw the Mc Laren F1 is car not built for topspeed & cornering, dragracing setup is much different than a roadracing setup.

A $200,000 turbocharged Honda Civic Type R built for dragracing will blow the doors off that $1,200,000 Mc Laren F1 in a 400m dragrace, application determines setup, a car, motorcycle or scooter built for cornering will not work good for dragracing & vice versa.

A zx-7r will do it in 11.6 sec, with 196km/h at the end.

It goes from 0-100km/h at around 3 secs.

You got a pretty evil machine, if you can keep up whith that Surprised

Edit:
Citat:
we got an unofficial 11.55 second ET @ 400m

OMG Shocked

Thanks. Very Happy

Yeah, it was just like a few years ago when oldschool dragracers said FWD (front wheel drive) cars couldn't break into the 10 second ET, then it happened, then it went down to 9 second ET's & then 8 second ET's.

It's not impossible, it can be done with a scooter if you put in enough time, effort, skill & $$$. with today's technology it's very possible.

Realy nice parts.
I am looking forward to watch some videos of some of the sprints later on.
I am going for a three day race weekend this comming weekend.
But it is only a TP Trophy powered racer. I have become to laysee to do a lot of work on my racer lately. Which is kind of a dilemma, because I like to drive fast as well. Cool
I'll cross my fingers for both of us.
Go kick some ass.

You bet we'll be kicking some serious Honda Dio90 & Yamaha Jog90 cast-iron kitted scooters as well as a few MHR Team kitted scooters.

The XSH pipe performed very well during the test this morning, it has met all expectations from what the dynograph showed us, the increase was very dramatic, we are pulling much taller rear tires & heavier rollers, result was lower times & higher topspeed.

This new setup won't lose against a fair fight i am only worried about jumpstarts & the marshals calling it a good run, i wish we had a sensor that warns the racer if he jumped the red light, makes for a fair race as it leaves out the possibility of cheating.
